Current Services and Training

Community Based Mentoring - Services include matching a positive adult role model with youth to engage in a one-to-one relationship and functions as a friend, advocate and life coach.

Tutoring - Services include educational training, support and remedial assistance during non-school hours to bring youth up to their academic grade level.

Parent Coaching - Services include assistance in the acquisition and development of effective parenting skills and techniques for management youth behavior or symptoms.

Counseling - The assessment, evaluation, and treatment of youth through a therapeutic relationship with a licensed counselor using a combination of mental health, psychotherapeutic, and human development principles, methods, and techniques to achieve goal-directed development.

Anger Management - Services include teaching a set of strategies intending to constructively control the emotional feelings and expression of anger.

Crisis Intervention - Services include non-clinical activities, interventions, and supports provided to coordinate emergency services, preventative measures, and problem solve before, during, or after a crisis event.

Intensive Surveillance And Supervisor - Services include monitoring community service and work sites, monitoring school attendance, and ensuring compliance with curfews and parole case plans.

Job Search Assistance - Services include training in the following life skills areas: job searching, resume writing, interviewing skills and professionalism

Life Skills - Services include independent living skills training for at-risk youth.

Camp - A time-limited day enrichment program operating during scheduled school breaks that incorporates a wide range of structured group recreation and leisure activities designed to opportunities for social interaction ,teamwork, creativity, skills acquisition, exercise, and play in a safe and supervised environment.

Case Management - Systematic, outcome focused needs-based activity that assists families by locating, linking, coordinating and facilitating access to needed services.

Respite - Services include supervision of youth to ensure their health, safety, security, nutritional, social, and recreational needs are being met in the absence of the Primary Caregiver.

CYS currently provides the following training: Rights, Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Client Grievance, Confidentiality, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention – Verbal Intervention, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention – Physical Holds and other specialized courses.
